From dough to the table

Work the dough by hand, shape a filled pasta and a long pasta, and make tiramisù from scratch. Our pasta making class in Rome is a shared class at Piazza Margana 22, with teaching in English. The chef explains each step, including the sauces for your pasta, so no experience is needed. Vegetarians are welcome too. Then you eat the pasta and dessert you prepared, with house wine and nonalcoholic drinks on the table. You can take part on your own or with friends. Great class! Made ravioli filled with courgette with a butter and sage sauce as well as pasta with amatriciana sauce. We learned so much about preparing pasta sauces and tiramisù! Highest recommendation. So fun and so knowledgeable.

Francesca was fantastic! She made the tour a lot of fun and guided us through the steps of making tiramisù, and traditional pasta. She has such a love for cooking and a patience that made the tour so easy and fun! The included wine and the chance to enjoy our creations afterwards was an impressive bonus. Highly recommend!

My wife and I took part in the cooking class on Friday 12 December with Francesca as our host and head cook. I had never been to one of these classes before, but everything was explained so well by our host about what we were cooking and how we would complete the recipe. We were given wine as our drinks to go with the meals we were making. This also flowed throughout the class to make the class even better. Having prepared our dessert we then moved on to our main meal and the ravioli. Through every stage Francesca explained to us exactly what we were doing and how to do it. This was made fun, informative and relaxed about how we were making all the meals. I highly recommend this class if you are coming to Rome and we would definitely do another one if we came here again. We would not choose a different place to do these classes and we would definitely want Francesca and her team again. 10/10 for the experience, the fun, the knowledge of how to cook and of course a bit of wine in a

Frequently Asked Questions

You make fresh pasta dough by hand and learn to shape it into different types, for example a filled pasta and a long pasta with two sauces. Then you finish with traditional tiramisù, made from scratch. At the end, everyone sits down at the table and you eat what you've cooked.

The class menu is already set and in the shared class we all cook it together, so you can't swap one sauce for another. If you're interested in carbonara, there's the carbonara class with cacio e pepe and amatriciana. For a menu all your own, you can ask our staff for a tailor-made private class.

No, this class uses gluten and has no gluten-free version, not even for a single portion. For celiacs there's the gluten-free pasta and tiramisù class, which is private, just for your group. Our kitchen is not certified gluten-free.

About three hours, and you finish at the table with the pasta and tiramisù you've made. Water, white and red wine, soft drinks and, if you'd like one, an espresso are included. A few minutes after the lesson, you'll get an automatic email with links to the recipes on our blog.

Yes, you can book just one spot: you cook in a small group with other travelers, each with your own dough. No experience is needed, because the chef explains and corrects every step. You can see the dates with available spots in the booking calendar on this page.

Yes, this pasta making class in Rome is suitable for vegetarians. If a sauce contains meat or pork, we leave it out for you: for example, amatriciana without guanciale becomes a tomato pasta. The other participants in the shared class cook it with guanciale.

Shared classes are taught in English, and if you find it hard to follow, we help by making the steps clearer. If you'd prefer the lesson in Italian or Spanish, there's a private version of the same class, just for your group.

Yes, the traditional tiramisù you learn to make in this Rome pasta making class contains eggs. We advise pregnant women against eating the tiramisù. If you have doubts about other ingredients or allergies, write to our staff before booking.

Yes, kids can cook from age 6, and in the shared class they pay the same as adults. Younger children can stay in the class with an adult without cooking. Anyone who wants to come along without cooking should talk to our staff first. With kids, though, we recommend a private class.

At Piazza Margana 22, in the historic center: a 2-minute walk from Piazza Venezia and 5 minutes from the Colosseum. We're on the ground floor, with a street-front window, the historic green door and the logo on the glass. Just arrive at the start time: if you're more than 15 minutes late, the class starts without you. For directions from Termini or the airport, ask in the chat or ask our staff.
