Recipe for Tiramisù
Ingredients for 4/5 Servings (Cups as you see in the above image):
2 whole eggs
250 grams of mascarpone cheese
U.S.A. | 8.8 ounces or about 1 cup
40-50 grams of granulated sugar
U.S.A. | 2 heaping tablespoons
Italian Coffee 120 grams
U.S.A. | aproximately 4.06 fluid ounces or about 0.51 cups
Savoiardi ladyfingers 8 ( approximately 100 grams)
Bitter cocoa powder to taste
Utensils:
An electric mixer
A rubber spatula
Spoons
2 mixing bowls (glass or steel)
Procedure:
Step 1: Prepare the coffee in advance and let it cool. (Unsweetened).
Step 2: Separate the eggs into whites and yolks into two bowls.
Step 3: Mix sugar with the yolks and whip at high speed until you achieve a smooth cream.
Step 4: Add mascarpone to the yolks, whipping at medium speed until the mixture is even.
Step 5: Whip the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form, ensuring the beaters are clean before starting.
Step 6: Fold the egg whites into the yolk mixture gently, maintaining the airiness.
Assembling the Tiramisu
For individual servings in glasses as We do at Italian Cooking Classes in Rome: start with a layer of cream, dip the ladyfinger in coffee for 3 seconds, and place it on top.
Add another layer of cream to finish. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, keeping it uncovered for the first half-hour.
